The Crystal Mall
The Crystal Mall is located at the corner of Kingsway and Willingdon Avenue in Burnaby, BC.
Conveniently situated next to Metropolis at Metrotown, the Crystal Mall offers a completely different experience for its shoppers. Famous for its orientation towards the Chinese community of Burnaby, the Crystal Mall is a unique shopping district within the Metrotown area of Canada British Columbia Burnaby.
It boasts a 26-floor residential tower. The Crystal Mall also sits adjacent to the Hilton Metrotown Vancouver Hotel. There are four levels of underground parking available for mall customers. For transit users, the Metrotown Skytrain Station and bus loop are close by. The Crystal Mall is very easy to get in and out of, despite its location at one of the busiest intersections in Burnaby.
The Crystal Mall was built in 2000 and is two stories tall. Its circular shape makes it easy to explore. On the first level, there is an exciting Chinese open market with lots of interesting items to discover. There is also a “Computer Lane”, which takes up an entire hallway of the Crystal Mall with electronic and computer stores.
On the second level of the mall, there is a food court specializing in mostly in East Asian cuisines. There are trendy Asian favourites, such as bubble tea and bubble waffles, as well as more traditional choices. There are several restaurants located at the Crystal Mall, too, which mainly feature Chinese regional cuisines.
Locals who are learning to speak Mandarin enjoy coming to the Crystal Mall to practice their language skills. Most shopkeepers are fluent in English, so having Chinese language skills is not necessary.
Freshly-made foods that are harder to find, such as Chinese-style pastries and noodles, are plentiful at the Crystal Mall. There are also loads of specialty items that Asian locals enjoy. Shopping at this Chinese mall is a special experience that everyone should try at least once.
